Hold on tight: Smartphones will soon be getting a lot faster thanks to 4G, the speedy next-generation wireless standard. In fact, this week at the CTIA wireless conference almost all the talk is about 4G and how it will change the way we communicate. The successor to today's 3G technologies, 4G will bring no-waiting broadband Net access and streaming video capabilities to the phone. PCWorld's Ginny Mies and Mark Sullivan are on hand at CTIA in Las Vegas to report on all the latest developments (see CTIA 2010: Wireless Show Highlights in Pictures), including the unveiling of HTC's EVO 4G smartphone, an Android-based device with a hefty 4.3-inch touchscreen. If you can't be in Vegas yourself, following along with Ginny and Mark is the next best thing.
