The world is all a-twitter these days about Facebook's cavalier approach to its customers' privacy--and the company's recent attempts to make good. But as PCWorld's Tom Spring notes in "Good-Bye to Privacy," Facebook is just part of the problem. Data harvesters, invasive advertisements, and even mobile stalkers are all conspiring to erode your privacy. Then again, a recent Pew study found that Internet users don't care as much about online privacy as they did even three years ago. So have we given up on privacy altogether? For some of us, the answer is a qualified "yes." If you still care about your privacy, however, read Spring's investigative report, which will help you keep at least a bit more protected on the free-wheeling Net.
